RANDOM THOUGHTS McDonalds has a whole new look! I wonder how a new package will increase sales. Because since a customer only receives the sandwich after they’ve purchased it, the packaging design really plays no role in the decision making process. But I guess it does play a role in McDs overall goal of a new, healthy, transparent, brand. Next time you go to McDs, also take a close look at their newly designed menu. They styled their food like high end culinary cuisine. Interesting.

GRAPHIC DESIGN HQ is a personal project of Matthew Goodrich. HQ Design House is a concept where designers eat, sleep, drink, design, party, and live together under one roof. The project seems like a great way to build strong design communities and to make awesome friends. Now all we have to do is sell this idea to NBC and turn it into a reality show.

FILMS In advance of the US television premiere of Helvetica on January 6th, ITVS has organized free screenings of the film in dozens of cities across the country. It will be showing in San Francisco on December 9 at the San Francisco Main Public Library @ 6pm. There will also be a panel of speakers after the showing and will be moderated by the Academy of Art graphic design director, Phil Hamlett.
