FINDINGS I was talking to a friend who works at SOEX the other day and she mentioned about this project by The San Francisco Arts Commission. Artists and designers will be creating temporary art installations into 10 vacant storefront windows throughout the city. And of course, I find out that the nice peeps from MINEā¢ will be designing a window of their own. How fun!

Hello von
ART HelloVon is a brilliant artist who does amazing pencil and graphite pieces. I’m really impressed with how his fine art pieces have a graphic design quality to them. He’s currently having a show in Los Angeles @ the Cerasoli Gallery.
Snuggie poo
FINDINGS No comment. *sigh*
Noma Bar
GOLD STAR Noma Bar is an illustrator who’s capable of brilliantly using negative space. Kudos. I just got his newest book in the mail yesterday. I almost peed in my pants when I saw the cover. Do you see the coffin, dog, cat, AND mouse? I love how the spine of the book is also the dog collar.
Edward Fella
BOOKS Ed Fella’s book, Letters of America is filled with hundreds of his own Polariods documenting hand drawn signs seen while he travelled across America. Looks liked a beautiful book filled with lots of typographic inspiration.

Crowd-sourcing
FINDINGS While I was doing a little research on the idea of crowd-sourcing I came across this article at Fast Company. Apparently, the ad agency Cripsin Porter & Bogusky crowd-sourced a logo design for a motorcycle company, Brammo. It’s one thing if your crowd-sourcing for a logo if you’re not in the creative field…but it’s blasphemy if your crowd-sourcing and you consider yourself a “creative”. Don’t you think they’re devaluing what we do as designers? Maybe it’s all just a publicity stunt…but still!
