FINDINGS Check out Joshua Davis’ new iphone app. It’s pretty fascinating to see how Joshua has built a brand based on his signature design look. You can find his patterns all over consumer products to fine art pieces (trash cans, shoes, pillows, vases, iphone apps, notebooks, backpacks etc).

MAGAZINE I’m lovin’ the cover of this month’s Varoom magazine illustrated by James Joyce.
PRODUCT DESIGN I was waiting in line at Sephora the other day and these unique bottles caught my eye. There’s something really lovely in the stubby shape of these containers. The texture of the bottle feels nice, too.

FINDINGS I’m pretty sad and disappointed to announce that I.D. Magazine will be closing up shop. F+W Media Design produces three of the most popular graphic design magazines: HOW Design, Print, and I.D. Now it’s down to two. I would have liked to see HOW Design go instead of I.D. I hate how HOW magazine is filled with tons of advertisements and annoying cover stock papers (but I guess those bring in the moolah). I’m pretty impressed, however, with what they have done with Print magazine. It has transformed into a pretty lovely publication and I’m pretty impressed with their attempt to build a strong online community.. Well…goodbye, I.D. You will be missed.
