Boeing Tour
EVENTS I’m in Seattle this week and just visited the stunning Boeing manufacturing plant. Seeing how planes are built first hand was an amazing experience. The new Boeing 787 dreamliner is a beauty.
From here to there
BOOKS Just got sent a copy of From Here to There. It’s a rather nice collection of detailed hand drawn maps. If you’re in town, there will be an event 9/15 at the NY Public Library to celebrate the release.

FINDINGS The fantabulous Friends With You covers the Fubon Financial Building in Taipei with their “Field of Dreams” illustration for the Very Fun Park festival.
Technocraft
EVENTS TechnoCRAFT is an exhibit at the Yerba Buena Center of the Arts that explores how the boundary between the role of the designer and the consumer is disappearing. Curated by acclaimed designer Yves Behar, the exhibition traces the current trend in design away from fixed objects toward open “design platforms”. Opening Party, July 9th. The show is a part of YBCA’s Push Play summer events.

EVENTS Hi all! Just wanted to invite everyone to visit my pop-up window installation at 74 New Montgomery, SF. The window will be on view until May 14th. The installation promotes a satirical catalog of products that provide customers with a toolkit for instant luxury branding success. These fictitious products are intended to draw attention to the branding mystique and marketing gimmicks that currently make luxury luxurious. Let me know what you guys think of it.
Oakland museum re-opening
EVENTS My designer friend, Dave Gottwald over at the Oakland Museum contacted to let me know about their grand re-opening! He’s been working with the history team for the past year to revitalize the museum. The grand re-opening is on May 1 at 11:00 am to May 2 at 6:00pm. Admission will be free. Go check it out.

EVENTS The Design Revolution Road Show, a Project H Design initiative, is a traveling exhibition and lecture series bringing “product design that empowers” to 25 high schools and university design programs across the nation in the Spring of 2010. The road show will feature an Airstream trailer exhibition of 40 humanitarian design solutions that have been showcased in the book Design Revolution: 100 Products that Empower People. They’ll be making a stop on February 4, 2010 @ Academy of Art University, San Francisco.
