Funny Face
FINDINGS The Stanford Theatre is showing Funny Face starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. The talented photographer, Richard Avedon designed the opening title sequence and consulted on the film. Parts of the film reminds me of the editorial work of magazine art director, Alexey Brodovitch. The Stanford Theatre also has a wonderful collection of original movie posters, a great source of typographical inspiration.
Kyle Tezak

U.S. Postal Rebrand?
BRANDING Could a radical rebrand of the U.S. Postal Service help it survive? Check out Matt Chase’s proposal: Rebrand the USPS to “make people nostalgic for the days when pen-and-paper letter writing was the primary (and certainly the most intimate) form of communication.”

Laura Berglund
GOLD STAR Laura has a really strong portfolio with a collection of projects with great concepts. My favorite project of hers is the one featured here. This project titled, Anchor, is a campaign that helps student act as their own security force by allowing necessities such as reporting crimes, contacting security, knowing the facts, and staying aware of their surroundings.
