BOOKS Okay…I really need to stop with this book addiction. But it makes me so happy. This is another book I just bought with a super pretty fuschia cover.
Andrew Holder
ILLUSTRATION Andrew Holder is an artists based in Pasadena, California who has a portfolio filled with some really nice illustrations. His color palette and some of his illustrations feel a lot like a modern/graphic version of a Hockney painting.

BOOKS So I just got another book in the mail! This one is titled, Trade Marks & Symbols. Some of the marks in this book also appear in the Signs + Emblems book that I also got. So if you’re thinking about buying some books, I recommend only getting one of them.
SF moma typography
TYPOGRAPHY Here’s a nice collection of typography found throughout the SF Moma. Summer is a great time to make a trip out to the Moma and check out their recently opened rooftop terrace.
Breanne
GOLD STAR Breanne has a portfolio filled with some really awesome work and some pretty nifty silkscreened wallpaper. This project is my fav. “My work celebrates normative experiences via 1980s – 1990s popular culture, domesticity, cute, kitsch and the culture of collecting. It shares triumphant moments of youth and adulthood and oftentimes reveals the dark and embarrassing ones, too.” -Breanne

BOOKS I just love going to get the mail these days. This is the third book that I ordered. So far, this one is my favorite.
Face37
GRAPHIC DESIGN Here’s an interesting business card design for an Orthopaedic surgeon by design studio, Face37. The use of stainless steal was symbolic of the tools used during surgery. This is an interesting concept but I’m not sure I would feel comforted by a stainless steal business card if I were a patient going under the knife.
