LAURA BERGLUND
www.lauraberglundcom
GOLD STAR Laura has a really strong portfolio with a collection of projects with great concepts. My favorite project of hers is the one featured here. This project titled, Anchor, is a campaign that helps student act as their own security force by allowing necessities such as reporting crimes, contacting security, knowing the facts, and staying aware of their surroundings.

GOLD STAR Check out this new project by brilliant designer, Ji Lee. When I have my own place, I’m totally going to decorate my ceiling.

BOARDING PASS/FAIL
http://www.newtoyork.com/about/http://www.passfail.squarespace.com
GOLD STAR Airline boarding pass designs sometimes are so bad you can’t find the departure time to save your life. So, Tyler Thompson is fed up with crappy boarding passes and has taken initiative to design his own.

NOMA BAR
www.newyorker.com
GOLD STAR Noma Bar is an illustrator who’s capable of brilliantly using negative space. Kudos. I just got his newest book in the mail yesterday. I almost peed in my pants when I saw the cover. Do you see the coffin, dog, cat, AND mouse? I love how the spine of the book is also the dog collar.

BREANNE
www.breannetrammell.com
GOLD STAR Breanne has a portfolio filled with some really awesome work and some pretty nifty silkscreened wallpaper. This project is my fav. “My work celebrates normative experiences via 1980s - 1990s popular culture, domesticity, cute, kitsch and the culture of collecting. It shares triumphant moments of youth and adulthood and oftentimes reveals the dark and embarrassing ones, too.” -Breanne

GOLD STAR I really hope to see this project implemented in the real world. I would totally be a supporter of this paper product.

PENNY SMASH
www.pennysmash.ca
GOLD STAR This is a project by Motherbrand that explores the social and cultural function of souvenirs. They asked Douglas Coupland, Marian Bantjes, Burton Kramer, and Paul Butler to create designs for the pennies. This one featured here is by the brilliant, Marian Bantjes. Sadly, these pennies are only available at the Gladstone Hotel in downtown Toronto. Me likeee.
