BEIHAI FAKE HILLS
ARCHITECTURE Fake Hills, designed by MAD Ltd., is a brilliant building that will offer residential, office, and hotel facilities located on a waterfront site in Beihai, China. Seeing the organic shape of the building, I automatically think the Great Wall of China. “Rather than sitting the building in a perfect, man-made natural garden, our structure becomes the man-made natural shape itself. The design provides both a high density solution and a new landmark for the city.”
ARCHITECTURE How awesome is this bookstore?! I love how the design of the space encourages kids to run, hide, and explore. It feels like a futuristic Dr Suess book come to life. This space was designed for Poplar, Japan’s largest children’s book publisher by Sako, Japan’s leading architecture firm.
CHURCH OF LIGHT
ARCHITECTURE This beautiful church is located in the quiet suburbs of Osaka. I’m amazed by how the peaceful space is defined by the brilliant light that pours into the chapel.
FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT
ARCHITECTURE If I had $3million I would be the proud owner of this house, the only Frank Lloyd Wright residential home in California. This gorgeous house and 80 acres of farm land is up for sale!
ARCHITECTURE Here’s a sneak peek of the set design for the 81st Academy Awards, created by David Rockwell. This is the first time an architect was asked to design the stage. Have a great weekend everyone!
