MURAKAMI @ VERSAILLES
EXHIBITION Takashi Murakami is taking the Château of Versailles by storm with a show of manga-inspired sculptures. You might think that Takashi’s work seems to clash with the grandiose and conservative palace, however, after checking out some of the photos I was surprised to find how well his work actually fit in with the palace. Wish I was there to see it in person.
FINDINGS Check out this portfolio filled with some really interesting paper art.
FINDINGS The fabulous Dieline blog has a spinoff, Dieline Wine, that curates amazing label designs of the wine industry.
FINDINGS This “Collector” plate is a bluntly satirical art object that derives its value by simply declaring what it is. I’m loving this new project by MINE and would love to see even more “collectible” items. This is a limited edition of 50 plates and available for purchase here.
PHOTOGRAPHY Photographer, Robert Voit, documents a collection of those awkwardly, fake cellphone tower trees.

PHOTOGRAPHY Here’s a pretty interesting collection of photographs by Alain Delorme. The photographer comments, “the verticality of these formations echoes the incessant expansion of the urban area, constantly under construction. Here, Delorme gives a new vision full of humor and poetry of those porters – both super heroes and ants with impressive loads of tires, water containers, office chairs, flowers… distanced from the typical photos of china portraying immense crowds, he has focused on the individuality of these workers, as opposed to all those identical and interchangeable objects.”
